Stump Grinding by Neighborhood in Madison, TN
Fourteen neighborhoods across 37115, drive times from two minutes to fourteen, and one price given up front. Here is how coverage actually works across this side of the river.
The west side is quick, the bend takes planning
Madison is bounded by I-65 on the west, Briley Parkway to the south, the Sumner County line north and the Cumberland east, and those edges shape our week more than any map of subdivisions does. Everything near Gallatin Pike and Due West Avenue is inside five minutes of where we load, so Amqui, Eastlawn, Graycroft and Due West itself are the jobs we can slot into a gap or reach the same day for a look.
East and north of that the drive stretches. Shepherd Hills and Harbor Village run seven or eight minutes, the Neelys Bend Road subdivisions nine to eleven, and Neely's Bend proper about fourteen with one two-lane road doing all the work in and out. None of that costs you more. It just means the far side of the map gets planned into a morning rather than squeezed into a gap, and we pack heavier for it.
What changes between the fifties core and the two-thousands builds
Two eras, two completely different kinds of job. The 1950s and 60s streets, Due West at a 1956 average, Tahlena at 1958, Shepherd Hills at 1959, Anderson Lane at 1962, Graycroft at 1963, carry big old silver maple, water oak and white oak on lots of half an acre and up. Those are the large-diameter grinds with buried flares, surface roots that need taking down, and enough chip volume to need a decision about hauling.
The late-eighties and two-thousands subdivisions are the reverse. Heritage View at 1989, Cumberland Station at 2002, The Woods of Neelys Bend at 2003, all sitting on lots of a fifth of an acre with builder landscaping now failing on schedule. Bradford pear, crape myrtle, Leyland cypress. Small stumps, easy wood, and the whole difficulty is access: gates under three feet, side yards you can touch both sides of, and no room to put anything down.
The things that are the same in every one of them
One flat price from a photo, held when the trailer arrives. A Tennessee 811 locate called and waited out before a wheel turns, with a reminder that the free locate covers utility-owned lines and not the septic laterals, irrigation or invisible fence somebody buried themselves. Grinding to six to twelve inches under grade as standard, deeper when a post or a slab is going over the top.
Also worth knowing across all of Madison: Metro requires no tree removal permit on single-family or duplex property, only on commercial and multi-family. That exemption is a large part of why so many yards here have a stump that has been sitting for a year or more. There was never a step that forced the second half of the job, and then the December 2023 tornado added a few thousand more all at once.

Questions about coverage across Madison
My subdivision is not on your list. Do you still come?
Yes. The pages here cover the neighborhoods we work most, not the limits of where we go. If you are inside 37115, or anywhere between Briley Parkway and the Sumner line, you are in our area, and so are Goodlettsville, Old Hickory, Whites Creek, Inglewood, Hendersonville and Rivergate with no trip charge attached.
Does the price change depending on which part of Madison I am in?
No. The number is set by stump diameter, wood type and how hard the thing is to reach, and nothing else. Neely's Bend at fourteen minutes and Due West at two are priced the same way. Distance inside our area does not appear in the quote, and there is no separate fuel or travel line on the invoice.
Which parts of town can you get to fastest if it is urgent?
Anything along Gallatin Pike, Due West, Anderson Lane or Old Hickory Boulevard is a few minutes out and easiest to reach at short notice. Wherever you are, though, storm damage and anything resting on a structure jumps the queue and gets looked at the same day or the next one. Routine grinding runs three to five working days.
Can you do several properties in different neighborhoods on one bill?
That is a common request here from owners holding a few rentals scattered around 37115. We route them together where the addresses allow it, apply the multi-stump rate across the whole set rather than per property, and send one invoice. Give us the addresses and photos and we will lay out the pricing before anything gets booked.
